Antrim & Newtownabbey Street Art
CLIENT - Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council
We were commissioned by Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council to deliver a street art project across the entire Council area; transforming public spaces through creativity and collaboration.
Over the course of the project, we installed 21 unique murals, each inspired by the local character, history, and heritage of the towns they now brighten.
We worked with 14 artists to create work that resonates with local people and is attractive to visitors; Hixxy, EMIC, Andy Council, Woskerski, Peaball, Kitsune, Dan Leo, Sophi Odling, Lidia Cao, HM Constance, JMK, Holly Pereira, Zippy, and Imogen Donegan.
Every mural was developed in consultation with local councillors, residents, and businesses, ensuring that the designs were rooted in community identity and are meaningful to the people who live and work there.
A special feature of the project celebrated the designated flower of each District Electoral Area. Artist Hixxy was commissioned to create a series of floral murals, featuring flax, bluebell, forget-me-not, and rose; symbolising the unique character of each district and also creating a common theme throughout the Borough.
