Shane O’Driscoll
Shane O’Driscoll is an Irish visual artist. he studied Visual Communications and is a member of Cork Printmakers and Backwater Artists Group.
He specialises in printmaking and murals, exploring the balance of colour, shape and form. His practice features bright abstract compositions and evoke a bold presence in the varied spaces they inhabit.
Shane has work in the permanent collection of The National Gallery of Ireland, Crawford Art Gallery, Trinity College Dublin, UCC, UCD and he has painted murals throughout Ireland.
In 2008, his portrait of then - Democratic candidate Barack Obama became an internationally recognised emblem of hope. He is known for the “We The People” campaign debuted during the 2017 Women’s Marches worldwide. Fairey has painted more than 135 public murals, become one of the most sought-after and provocative artists globally, changing the way people converse about art and view the urban landscape.
